##news Last Friday, Riot Games reported a hack: attackers stole the sources of League of Legends, Team fight Tactics and Packman anti-cheat software. The day before yesterday, the company announced that it refused to pay $10 million in ransom. Well, now the stolen 72 gigs of sources have been put up for auction with a starting price of a million dollars.
Hackers claim that they got into the company's systems with the help of social engineering by SMS to one of the employees. And they spent 36 hours in their networks before they were discovered, and their original purpose was the source code for the Vanguard anti-cheat software. The sources themselves, at best, will become fertile ground for new cheats for the game, and at worst – for exploiting RCE vulnerabilities. That's just whether the potential opportunity to sell the kids another cheat to LoL will pay off a million bucks?
