Riot Games confirmed that hackers leaked the sources for League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, and also received a ransom letter in which the attackers threatened to publish the source code online if the developer did not pay.
Last week, a Californian developer admitted that hacking affected the work and upcoming updates, and now Riot is concerned about the appearance of new cheats as a result of the source code leak to the network.
However, the company stated that they did not intend to pay the ransom, despite the fact that the attack violated the build environment and could cause problems in the future.
The company remains confident that no player data or personal information has been compromised.
Currently, Riot is actively working with law enforcement agencies and external specialists to investigate this incident with the intention of identifying alleged attackers, and is also closely monitoring the source code leak if it suddenly appears on the network.
