Two pieces of news made our day.
The first is that the TaserCon conference, organized by Axon, will be held in Las Vegas this week, at which the latter will announce a plan to place drones with stun guns in American schools. By the way, Axon has a rich experience of throwing American citizens into the soup, because it is she who is the developer and manufacturer of Taser police tasers, whose name has already become a household name.
It is unclear why Axon chose schools as a testing ground for new drones, and not, for example, prisons. Either the founder and head of the company Rick Smith was offended by classmates and he thus arranges a revenge nationwide, or he revised the vintage action movie Class of 1999.
Opposition to mass shootings is stated as the official reason. In general, Axon's logic is clear: no legs - no jam, no children - no shootings.
The American public is outraged and declares that the use of combat (in fact) drones in schools can "dehumanize" the people these drones are aimed at. Translated from the universal it means "kill".
The second news is that Microsoft, as part of the second stage of investment, will invest $ 10 billion in the OpenAI startup (earlier in 2019 they already gave 1 billion). OpenAI is the developer of the sensational ChatGPT. As the small-minded say, this will lead to breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence.
Mass deployment of armed drones, development of advanced artificial intelligence... We are optimistic about the future!
