The Chinese have created a liquid metal robot that can get out of the cage, like the terminator T-1000🤖
The new robots can transition from a solid state to a liquid state, which allows them to jump, scramble and even flow out of the cage.
☝🏻The machines are made of gallium metal, in which tiny magnetic microparticles are embedded. The shape and movements of the machines are controlled by magnetic fields.
Such a design combines high mechanical strength, load capacity and high speed of movement of the solid phase with "excellent morphological adaptability (elongation, splitting and fusion) in the liquid phase" — note the creators from Sun Yat-sen University and Zhejiang University in China.
With the help of this technique, researchers were able to make robots solder chains, form a universal screw from themselves, extract objects from a manikin stomach and overcome obstacle courses.😊
