What is a switchboard?
• A switch is a device that connects several nodes of the same computer network. Such nodes can be both computers themselves and other devices: printers, servers, and so on.
• The switch is capable of transmitting information from the sender to the receiver only within this local network.
• The switch operates on the 2nd level of the OSI model
• The switch is equipped with ports of the same type — LAN (Local Area Network), which are suitable for connecting local devices physically located close to each other.
