You live a boring life if you keep a crypt and your New Year

You live a boring life if you keep a crypt and your New Year is not like this, since many users of BitKeep crypto wallets will start their New Year mood with gray hair, because their wallets were emptied during the Christmas celebration.

BitKeep is a decentralized DeFi web3 wallet supporting more than 30 blockchains, 76 networks and more than 20,000 decentralized applications.

The active audience includes more than 8 million users in 168 countries who use the wallet to manage their crypto assets.

Experts from Peckshield reported that approximately $8 million of BitKeep users' funds were stolen through a hacked APK version of the crypto wallet.

The BitKeep team has already confirmed the problem in its official Telegram account and reported that hackers intercepted the download of some APK packages, which led to the loss of funds for its users.

The company added that users whose funds were stolen downloaded an unknown version of its application.

BitKeep clarified that users should transfer their funds to wallets downloaded from official sources such as Google Play and the App Store.

BitKeep recommended its users to create new wallet addresses, as hackers may still have access to addresses created through a compromised APK.

The team asked the affected users to send their data to the Google form, adding that it will pay full compensation if the theft occurred due to the fault of the platform.

As the team receives up-to-date information about the attack, it will provide more detailed information about it to its users.

So far, it is known that the hacker transferred most of the funds to the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) wallet address. The total ganorar of the malefactor includes 4373 $ BNB, 5.4 million $ USDT, 196 thousand. DAI and 1233.21 ETH.

The crypto firm also takes measures to freeze the hacker's address and return the stolen funds.

Who knows, but hackers really have Merry Christmas!
