List of changes in 5.4.5
Phrase Updates
We have added a number of short codes to the phrase system. They allow you to insert additional information into all phrases as a means to further customize your site. To use short codes, just paste them into the phrase translation where you want their information to be displayed. Currently, these short codes are supported:
{sitename}: the name of your site from "Settings" -> "Settings" -> "Site name / URL / contact details".
{userid}: numeric user ID of the current user or email recipient.
Гость: the username of the current user or email recipient
{user_name}: the current user name with the user group markup is applied.
{homeurl}: The first page of your site.
{registerurl}: URL of your registration page.
{activationurl}: link to the account activation page.
{helpurl}: link to the User Manual on the website.
{contacturl}: This is the URL of your "Contact Us" page.
{date} - Current date using language settings
Note. When using URL short codes, if you want to create an active link, they must be used in the HTML tag. Contact us
Media files
The processing of multimedia files with the corresponding mimetype has been updated. These files will be sent to the user's device with byte range headers. This allows you to play audio and video files directly while they are still being downloaded. This is a specific requirement for media playback on an iOS device, but may improve processing on other devices. Note that this should not be considered as a streaming system, and there is no buffering provided by vBulletin.
Node Tools
The node tools in AdminCP have been expanded.
Moving nodes. A tool for mass node movement between channels has been added to AdminCP. With Mass Move, you can easily move a large number of topics from one place to another. The tool can move topics, articles and blog entries, as well as discussions in social groups among the relevant channels. Mass relocation can be accessed in AdminCP in the Node Tools menu.
User ID Search: On both Prune Node and Move Nodes, we have provided the ability to search by user ID in addition to the user name. Searching by User ID 0 will allow you to find all the "Guest" messages on your site for easier management.
Improved update handling
We have made several changes to the Processing of Upgrade in vBulletin 5.4.5. These changes are aimed at improving the reliability of scripts in both Web and CLI mode.
Memory Update
A problem has been discovered that may cause the update script to not work on large sites when updating the command line. We have reorganized how the update system handles memory to account for this. This should ensure a smoother upgrade process.
Deleted files
We have removed a large number of unnecessary files from the update system. The system allows you to upgrade from 3.6.0 to vBulletin 5.4.5. These are almost 550 upgrade scripts released over the years. Many of these files didn't have any update steps in them and just promoted the version number. This update has been fixed by almost half of the update files.
vBulletin AI Suite: Similar topics
Several updates have been made to provide better control over the related topics module in vBulletin Cloud. These changes will allow you to fine tune the related topics returned by the module. They include:
Channel restrictions. Limit the results so that they come from specific channels.
Similarity threshold: you can set the level of similarity or specificity of the results obtained.
Placement error: The module "Related topics" can only be placed on pages with the node ID. The system has been updated to provide administrators with a more user-friendly message if this requirement is not met.

Diagnosis of suspicious files
From time to time we determine that a particular file in the vBulletin system is no longer useful. Either its functionality has been reorganized into other files, or the functionality is simply not used anymore. Due to the standard vBulletin update method, these unnecessary files may accumulate on your server. It is recommended to restart the Suspicious file diagnostic tool after the update to list these files. The tool will display them as "Not part of vBulletin.
