See which websites you have logged in with Google, Facebook or Twitter

The social networks They can put our privacy at risk without us noticing. One of the reasons is when we link them to others services or platforms on the Internet and these are not safe. In this article to explain how you can see on which websites or online services you have logged in with your Facebook or Google account. In this way you can have a better understanding of where you have linked your account and whether or not it could be in danger.

How to see the services linked to Facebook

With Facebook we are facing the most used social network and that means that it also has functions such as logging into other platforms or linking service. This is useful, since in many cases it saves us time, but it can also become a major problem for the privacy.

To see where have you linked your Facebook account, the first thing you have to do is log in to the social network. Once you are inside, you go to the menu on the top right, click on Configuration and privacy, Configuration, enter Security and logins and there you access Applications and websites.

There you will see all the list with websites where you have linked your Facebook account. You can see some pages that you have linked even many years ago, as long as you have never disconnected them. In fact you can see the exact date of the link. This is useful to detect possible problems and avoid having unsafe services.

In each of them you can click on the View and edit. This will show you more information. For example, the information you are sharing, such as your name, profile photo, e-mail, the photos you have on Facebook uploaded… You will have all that information from each of the linked services.

If you want to delete something specific, you can do it easily. For example, if you don't want to share your email address you can give Delete. You can also hit the blue Delete button, which appears above, and you will completely untie that service or platform that you linked at some point.

Steps to see sites linked to Google

Another platform where you should control everything you have linked is Google. You can also see all the services that can access your account and thus have full control so that there are no privacy problems. To do this you simply have to follow a series of steps.

To see what services do you have linked to your Google account and therefore they can see certain data, you have to go to Security section. Once you are there, you will come to a page where the list of linked devices will appear and, just to the right, third-party applications with account access.

The latter is what interests us. If you click there you will come to another window where it will show you all those linked services. Basically they are web pages or applications that you can enter simply by logging into Google, without having to do anything else. At the top you will see a button to allow this to happen or not.

You can also click on each of those services individually. Doing so will bring up a series of data, such as if you have access to basic information about your account, when you granted permissions or the main page. To unlink it, you just have to hit the Remove access.

Automatically, that service will no longer be linked to the Google account. You will no longer be able to access your account information, nor will you be able to access its website without logging in. If you want to reverse the situation, you would have to give him permissions again.

See services linked to Twitter

Another widely used social network that you can link to other services is Twitter. There you can also easily see everything you have linked and that could be putting your privacy at risk. We are going to show the steps you must take to do it, to always have full control over your account and your data.

For this you have to enter your Twitter account, you go to More options, you access Security and access the account and, once there, you give to Applications and sessions and you enter Connected applications. That will open a new screen where all the third party services that you have linked to your Twitter account will appear.

You can click on each of them to configure it independently. Once you enter one, it will take you to a page with the permissions it has and also the option to revoke the permissions of that application. If you are not interested in it staying linked, it is as easy as removing it.

If in the future you want to enter that service through OAuth, with Twitter, you will have to link it again. You should always make sure that you have no applications or pages that can be dangerous or that you don't need directly at all. The less data you expose, the better for your privacy.

Conclusions

As you can see, there are many services and platforms that you can link to social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, as well as Google. This is useful to be able to log in faster, without having to put other data. But of course, after all, they are sharing information between those services, which may sometimes not be safe. It is important to have a control and know at all times with what and when we are sharing data.

It is easy to untie a service from social networks. You just have to follow the steps we have taken and you will be able to see all the ones you have linked and eliminate those that do not interest you. In this way you can keep privacy assured and avoid problems that put your data at risk.

Our advice is that you do not have linked services that can become a problem for your privacy. Check at all times which you give permissions so that they can see your personal data and have access to information such as your e-mail, full name, contact list, etc. Otherwise, you could be giving access to services that at any given time are going to be a problem.
