👩💻Attackers can use ChatGPT to Create 😷 Polymorphic Malware
Cyberark researchers Eran Shimoni and Omer Tsarfati claim that HATGPT is capable of creating relatively simple polymorphic malware:
ChatGPT can be easily used to create polymorphic malware. The advanced capabilities of such malware can easily bypass security products and make the fight against it extremely difficult, while the enemy will not make much effort or investment. The purpose of this communication is to raise awareness of potential risks and stimulate further research on this topic.
The concept of creating polymorphic malware using ChatGPT may seem complicated, but in fact its implementation is relatively simple. Using ChatGPT's ability to generate various persistence techniques, Anti-VM modules and other malicious payloads, the possibilities for malware development are very wide. Although we did not go into the details of the connection with the C&C server, nevertheless, there are several ways to do this unnoticed, without arousing suspicion. In the future, we will expand and delve into this topic, and also plan to release part of the source code for research purposes.
