• ZigBee is a technology for building wireless data transmission networks. The ZigBee network operates in the license-free 2.4GHz band and is focused on transmitting small amounts of information from a variety of sources, including battery-powered ones.
• The scope of ZigBee networks extends from home automation (control of lights, household appliances, audio-video equipment) to the construction of monitoring systems for large industrial facilities (for example, monitoring temperature and vibration of motors, collecting readings of electricity, water and gas consumption sensors, questioning fire and security sensors).
