What is an intranet?
• Intranet — an internal network of a company or government agency that operates on the principle of the Internet, but is closed to unauthorized users. Simply put, this is the Internet in miniature, or the private Internet.
• Its main purpose is to ensure effective collaboration of employees and internal corporate communications.
• The network interface is usually a corporate portal. It is similar to a virtual office, which houses all the necessary information, documentation, contacts, a system for setting and monitoring tasks, a customer relationship management system (CRM), etc.
• In some cases, an intranet can be organized without access to the Internet — in the form of a local network.
