important: THIS EXTENSION IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH MAILWIZZ 2.X.
IF YOU ARE STILL USING MAILWIZZ 1.X, YOU CAN STILL PURCHASE A LICENSE FOR THIS EXTENSION AND CONTACT US TO PROVIDE YOU WITH AN EXTENSION COMPATIBLE WITH MAILWIZZ 1.X.
This extension allows you to create backups in one click and on a schedule for your MailWizz EMA-based applications!
Since MailWizz EMA is in constant and active development, regularly releasing a new version, backing up your data before updating is always a difficult and time-consuming task.
This extension is designed to make it easier and make the whole process of updating and backup easier and faster, if until now the backup process took you hours, now it only takes a few seconds!
features
- One-click backup
- Schedule backups (for example: backup once a day, once every 2 days, once every 10 days, etc.)
- Select the number of backups to save (i.e. save only the 10 most recent backups)
- Notification system (notify by email when backup is completed, but also in case of failure, multiple email addresses are allowed)
- List of backups
- Manually upload/delete backups from the web interface
INSTALLATION in a few simple steps
- Log into the server part of your MailWizz EMA-based website and go to the extensions menu.
- Click the download button, select the extension archive and download it.
- Enable the extension, then click on its title to go to the extension page where you can see the data entry of your backup.
CONFIGURE the extension (after following the steps described above)
After enabling the extension, a new menu item will appear on the left sidebar - “Backup Manager".
By clicking on the menu item followed by the "Settings" submenu, you will be taken to the extension settings page.
The most important setting is the “Storage Path”, which is where your backups will be stored.
Please make sure that you have created a backup directory and changed it to 0777 so that it is writable by the web server as well as by the command line module, this is very important!
Please do not install a backup directory inside your application's files, as you will also create backups in the backup directory, which will result in huge backups being created day after day.
If MailWizz is set to /home/domain/public_html, your backup directory should be one level higher, for example /home/domain/backup
requirements
The backup extension requires that the exec() function be enabled in your PHP installation, as it will call several command-line commands to create backups.
In addition, this only works in a Linux environment where the “tar” and “mysqldump” commands are available (they are on 99% of Linux servers).
