Top NFT collections DeGods and y00ts say goodbye to the Solana blockchain and migrate to Ethereum and Polygon.
DeGods and y00ts have announced that they will leave Solana and switch to new blockchains in the 1st quarter of 2023. Both projects are due to submit an official roadmap in January.

But there are dark spots in this story. So, Reddit users claim that DeGods and y00ts have requested an impressive amount from the Solana Foundation. And Polygon allegedly paid y00ts $5 million to switch to its blockchain.

According to the largest marketplace OpenSea, DeGods and y00ts are among the top three NFT collections on Solana. Over the last day, DeGods gained almost 2.2 million in total, and y00ts — 1.7 million SOL. Moving projects to other blockchains will hit her reputation hard.

Meanwhile, Solana has already left the top ten largest networks. According to DeFiLlama, 91 protocols work on the blockchain, and the number of funds blocked in it (total value locked, TVL) is $218.4 million. The leading position is occupied by Ethereum: it supports more than 600 protocols with a TVL of $23.38 billion. Polygon is in fifth place with 352 protocols and TVL $993.41 million.

If we compare blockchains with each other, then Ethereum controls almost 60% of the value blocked in decentralized (DeFi) protocols. Polygon accounts for about 2.5%.
Disruptions in the work of the blockchain continue to worry the community
In a recent podcast, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko raised the issue of blockchain outages. He noted that solving this problem remains a priority for developers.
Since its introduction in March 2020, the Solana network has stopped eight times. This has not happened with Ethereum and Polygon yet.
However, the project team promises that in the coming year such incidents will come to naught thanks to the launch of Firedancer. The second validator client from Jump Crypto is designed to improve the security and stability of the blockchain. The roadmap notes that Firedancer will make Solana the only network besides Ethereum that has more than one validator client.
