Nobel laureate in economics Paul Krugman compared the bitcoin cryptocurrency with shares of the electric car manufacturer Tesla.
Krugman believes that bitcoin is inherently very similar to Tesla securities. He came to this conclusion when he tried to answer the question of why BTC and Tesla have such a large level of capitalization.
According to the economist, Americans began to invest in the creation of electric cars, admiring the personality of Elon Musk. Despite Tesla's unprofitability, its shares were in high demand because investors believed in the innovative genius of the company's head.
Krugman believes that in this regard, bitcoin resembles an automotive company. The digital asset is also kept afloat thanks to people's faith in its bright future. However, Paul doubts that BTC has real value.
