💧 Numerous database leaks in 2022 have reduced their cost
In 2022, 1.5 billion records with personal data of Russians were publicly available. According to Positive Technologies, the price of a "simple" database in the darknet this year was $ 100-150, and in 2021 – $200-250. Cybersecurity experts believe that the decrease in cost was influenced by the increased attacks of hack activists.
In the summer of this year, databases of 75 Russian companies were found on the Internet at once: Internet delivery services, transport, construction and medical companies, online cinemas, telecom operators and others. Then 304 million records leaked.Â
Banking databases have become the most expensive this year. The cost of information on the black market can grow several times, and the price of a database with accurate information about the client's cooperation with the bank and its accounts can reach millions of rubles, experts say.
